Floor Scrubbing and Waxing: How We Do It and Why It Helps

Even with regular cleaning, floors can start to look dull and scuffed. Dirt builds up, and everyday foot traffic wears down the protective finish. Scrubbing and waxing helps refresh the appearance, protect the flooring underneath and make everyday cleaning easier. What we commonly call “wax” is usually a commercial floor finish that creates a protective layer. At Arodal, we first check the floor type and condition to decide whether a scrub and fresh coats of finish will do the job, or whether the old finish needs to be fully stripped away.

Here’s how we do it. We clear the area, put up safety signs and remove loose dust and dirt. Next, we use a floor machine with the right cleaning pad and solution to remove built-up dirt and the worn top layer of finish. We pick up the dirty water, rinse as needed and let the floor dry completely. Then, we apply thin, even coats of floor finish, allowing the recommended drying time between coats and enough time before the floor is used again. The right equipment, careful preparation and proper drying time all help create a clean, refreshed floor that is easier to maintain.
